How to pick the right GYM?

How to pick the right GYM?

This is a very crucial choice when you are beginning to start your fitness journey. if you are not able to make a correct decision then you can waste even months of your training. Also selecting the right gym is also necessary for one owns convenience ' sake. Let’s face it, if you pick a gym that’s like an hour drive away from you, you will soon begin to feel demotivate to go to the gym eventually and plus it’s not efficient and will increase your expense. The next important thing is the price of the gym, it needs to be reasonable. This doesn't necessarily mean that you have to join the most expensive gym in town nor does it always mean, it’s the best option. Your dream gym should have these essential equipment. It depends on your fitness goals as well.

1. Power rack

This is an equipment that helps you put a bar at the level of height you want. a power rack has four upright posts with two horizontal bars that are adjustable.

2. Olympic bars

These are mostly used for the core exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench and rows.

3. Flat bench

These are flat adjustable benches and are most used item in any gym and its a good idea to have around 3-4 in your gym.

4. Pull up bar

Most gyms offer variety of bars with changed grip styles. Even with standard grips, it will get the job done.

5. Extensive range of dumbbells

Every gym that exists has dumbbells, but if you find one that doesn't then you shouldn’t join it. its considered ideal if your gym has selection of dumbbells with variations in weight. Also, another important factor is to make sure that your gym has heavy pounded weights. Because as you start from the lowered weighted dumbbells, you eventually move onto the heavy weighted ones and your gym should have it so that your weightlifting progress isn’t interrupted.

Now there are some equipment that are not compulsory to have but feels good having it in the gym

1. Weight machines.

There are numerous machines for every different muscle group, and usually gyms do keep a number of these machines. There are two kinds of weight machines: plate loaded, these are kind of inconvenient as you need to load up the weight plates which can be quite a annoying to put together. The second is pin loaded, in this, you have to choose the weight, put the pin and do your work out. And then a cable like mechanism does the rest.

2. Bumper weight plates.

There is one main difference between the metal ones and the bumper ones. They have a fixed diameter and are rubbery. These are great for amateurs. Some gym owners allow only these kind of weights because they do not damage the floors.

The other thing you need to know is about personal trainers

Mostly gyms have people available to help the beginners, they offer customized training regimen and diet plans well. You have to obviously pay extra to the gym for this kind of service. The disadvantage of this is that, you’re not really sure how credible or competent the trainer is. What I suggest is that you take your time, do your research around the gym and go for the trainer.

Location, price and convenience

These three are the most important factors when deciding which gym to go to. i believe your gym shouldn’t be too far from you because no one likes traveling for long periods of time and if the gym is near, you can go whenever you want easily. But you should make sure that gyms near you should be proper that has all the necessary equipment, resources you need in order to implement your training. The next important factor is the price, the price of the membership depends on the services and the type of environment offered by the gym. For a higher price, i would at least expect sauna room, locker room, Jacuzzi. Only if the price is well above the normal rates. From what I have seen is that people like gyms that offer 24\7 availability. This allows flexibility in your time schedule and makes it easy for a person who has a lot of work. So these are the most prominent factor one should consider when selecting a gym.
