7 Benefits of exercising regularly


Everyone reading this understands exercise is always deemed beneficial for them, but do you know how good it is for you? From lighting up your mood to improving your overall health, here’s our two cents of how exercising on a regular basis can improve your life!

1.      Exercise helps you manage your weight

Through exercise you can control your weight, prevent you from being over-weight or even help prevent excessive weight loss. Engaging in physical activity helps burn calories, and the more intensive exercise you perform, the more calories you are likely to be burning. Going to the gym and working out regularly is a great thing to do, but in case you aren’t able to take out a great amount of time dedicated to exercising, going at least 3 days a week can help you stay in shape. Or if that isn’t possible, just try to stay as active as possible such as, walking to a particular destination if it isn’t that far away instead of getting a cab, or even cycling your way through and opting to take the stairs instead of the elevator. Staying consistent is key.

Exercising or simply staying active boosts high density lipoprotein(HDL) cholesterol which is also known as the good cholesterol and it reduces levels of unhealthy- health deteriorating triglycerides. So you can say goodbye to heart diseases and high blood pressures because regardless of what your current weight may be, exercise will help combat these health conditions. If you are exercising on a regular basis, you are enabling your body to fight many health problems such as:

Exercising or any form of physical activity stimulates certain hormones that result in your mood being uplifted greatly by making you feel much happier, relaxed and a lot less anxious. It certainly helps boost self confidence about how you look when you start seeing results and improves your self-esteem.

Exercising on a regular basis can boost endurance level of your muscles, through improving strength levels. When you are working out, your tissues are constantly being provided with oxygen and nutrients. And also helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently.

5.      Your sleep improves

Regular working out can help you fall asleep a lot faster, improves the quality of sleep as your muscles recover the most when you are asleep. However it is not advised to exercise right before you go to bed, as your body will have immense blood flow and may be too energized to fall asleep.

As your body improves and you see result, you get more and more confident about the way you look and appear to other people, which may boost your sex life. Studies suggest that women who perform physical exercise on a regular basis have enhanced arousals, and men who exercise regularly have a much lesser chance of having erectile dysfunction compared to men who are inactive.

7.      Exercising is fun

Both physical activity as well as exercise in general can be fun and made enjoyable. Indulging in physical activity give you the opportunity to explore and enjoy the outdoors or simply take part in activities that make you feel happy. You can also connect with your friends and family, take them out for a hike, a run or go cycling as a group. All these moments can be better enjoyed while being accompanied by the people you love, making your overall experience much better as you get to socialize and stay fit, together!
